Robert Prater has called Seminole and Orange County home for 38 years. He grew up on these streets, was educated in these schools, and spent his career giving back to the very community that raised him. That deep-rooted commitment is why he's stepping up to serve District 37 in Tallahassee.
A husband, father of two, and grandfather, Robert knows that the decisions made in the State Capitol are felt at every kitchen table in Central Florida — from mortgage payments and property insurance to the quality of the neighborhood school and the safety of the streets his grandkids ride their bikes on.
He's not a career politician. He's a teacher, a coach, a neighbor, and a problem-solver — and he's ready to bring that experience to the Florida House.

Robert has spent more than 20 years in Orange County Public Schools — as a classroom teacher, Dean of Students, and educational leader. He's mentored thousands of kids, supported hundreds of teachers, and worked directly with the families who make our community strong.
He's seen firsthand what works in our schools and what needs to change. That real, on-the-ground experience is what he'll bring to every education vote in Tallahassee.
